Commencing teaching to beginners and competitors alike in 1999, Trujons rapidly became the fastest growing dance school in the North of England. Early successes in IDTA medallist competitions and the popularity of Trujons' many classes, were major factors in this growth, and still are! As a result, Trujons has now become a well-established school, with the largest community of dancers in the area.

The school was formed by Trudy and John Mainwaring (hence the combining of the names to become "Trujons"). John is an ex-marine only being introduced to dance by his wife Trudy. Trudy (formerly Theobold) however,  has had a life of dance, and following a highly successful career as a competitor herself, has followed her ambition to own and run a dance school and help others to follow in her footsteps and reach the top.

Trudy and John have been joined by a great team of IDTA qualified and student teachers who have helped not only to produce a large crop of highly talented and successful dancers, but also to create a real family atmosphere. It is a combination of the success and the atmosphere why so many have chosen Trujons as the place to be introduced into dancing, or further the knowledge they already have. Classes have a friendly, productive approach and after attending a class, people are left not just with more knowledge of dancing, but also an understanding of what it means when we say a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet!

Being a well established school with such a great team of teachers also means that Trujons can cater for all types of dancer. Those who just want to learn in their spare time can choose to attend classes, and with beginner, intermediate and advanced level classes, people can feel comfortable with the knowledge that they will be receiving tuition suited to their situation. There are also private lessons available for tuition tailored towards the couple/individual for such occasions as Weddings, or in preparation for performance auditions. The private lesson situation is also utilised by those looking to compete with their dancing. Trujons is prominent in IDTA medallist competitions which offer the opportunity to compete in regional and nationwide competitions, and is also involved in the Supadance League in which couples dance as part of a team. Furthermore, Trujons are also experienced in coaching potential dance teachers to achieve their professional teacher qualification acknowledged by the IDTA.
